I wear belts because I’m short waisted and not half as curvy as I’d like. I feel like if I don’t place something around my waist that clearly states HERE IS MY WAIST, I’ll just be wearing my pants up around my boobs. Which, by the way, is why I don’t wear pants. BECAUSE THEY COME UP TO MY BOOBS.
I’m told that as a simple rule of thumb, ‘medium’ belts will work on most body types (1-2 inches thick), skinny belts are great on longer torsos, and if you’re short waisted like me, shoot for a wider belt. But that sounds suspiciously like one of those rules that sounds right - up until you see some babe out there breaking all the rules and still looking amazing. So here’s some photos of ladies in belts, looking amazing in a range of thin, medium and thick belts, with no real rhyme or reason that I can detect (feel free to correct me if there’s some glaringly obvious pattern - but all I’m seeing is stylish ladies looking amazing in a variety of belt widths).1. Moi.2. Cara. I seriously can’t get enough of this outfit.3. Saffron. Who, if I’m not mistaken, is also a big fan of the wider belt.4. Lilli, who always manage to work thin belts much better than I do.5. Tegan. I love that colour belt on that dress!6. Tanesha. This outfit is amazing.
Reblogging for many reasons:
1. There’s me!!!
2. There’s me with a dazzling array of gorgeous women who I admire, respect and am not-so-secretly in love with.
3. I like belts.
4. I am also very shortwaisted and though I love a wide belt (as pictured above) and wear them often, I do have to say that due to my short waistedness, wide belts bend and crease on me. Which is a bit annoying. A medium belt works much better. I’m not a huge fan of thin belts on me, but I will wear them on occasion. So much for rules!
5. Have I mentioned how stoked I am to be included in a post with these ladies?!?
