The Lauren top in olive. I bought it because I love my Lauren in Harlequin print, and PUG posted a photo of this colour with the Harlequin skirt that I have and they looked great together. So it was necessary. But it occurred to me that it would also look perfect with the Venus Flytrap skirt - and man, do I love it when I am right. As if they were made for each other. Outfit perfection.
But if you had told me five years ago that I would one day wear a green top with a purple skirt covered in Audrey Twos - an outfit that is rather ‘out there’ - I would have laughed in your face. Then, I didn’t think it was my right to stand out so dramatically as a fat woman. I am so grateful that I feel comfortable in an outfit like this now, and that I have the confidence to pull it off. Because it would have been unfair to deny the world of this awesome. ;)

New Haunted Housewife Deadly Dames dress - so much love! This print is one of my favourites, and now I have it in two dress styles.
It was necessary to wear this to work on Thursday as fanciness helps to brighten dreary days.

Yeah, this dress was finally restocked and is on its way to me right now (arriving tomorrow, I think!).
Here is my lovely Mom wearing the Deadly Dames Lace Top in Leopard print from Pinup Girl Clothing. I bought myself the same top, since I have the Lace Top in the other three colours/prints and wanted to have a full set. And since Mom was admiring my black one when she visited last Christmas, I thought I would buy us each one. I live in New Zealand but Mom lives in Canada, so I had them both shipped to her and then she is sending mine to me along with a few other things. I should get it soon, can’t wait! But in the meantime, I thought I’d post this one since she’s rocking it!
Just going through old photos - look how cute my mom looks in the Deadly Dames lace top I bought her from Pinup Girl Clothing!
It was quite warm this morning, so I didn’t want to wear a petticoat today. But look how flat the skirt was on the left! So I had to take another photo holding it out, of course. It does go to show that I have become so accustomed to the fullness petticoats provide, that it just doesn’t look right to me without one.

I have a confession to make. I failed at Banuary. Yes, I am terrible. I tried to go one month without buying anything non-essential and I failed.
I have bought two pairs of shoes. The first was a pair of Fluevogs for a ridiculously low price, too low to resist. I haven’t worn them yet, but when I do I will post a photo.
The second were these ones. TEAL SUEDE. ON SALE. WITH A SENSIBLE HEEL. Really, how could I resist?
So, I ask you, did I fail at Banuary, or win at life? :)

Christmas Day outfit! We went to a BBQ at a friend’s place and it was a lovely day with fantastic weather, great company and lots of food and drink. I am actually suffering from a post-good cheer headache today, which is so far thwarting my Boxing Day shopping plans!

I’m getting this fabulous skirt for my birthday next week, but won’t be able to wear it until after Frocktober! 1 November, you’re going to look awesome!
I had a bunch of friends over on Saturday and they were let loose in my closet. Dress-fueled hilarity ensued. A few of them put on all 11 of my petticoats at once - it was so freaking funny! I haven’t laughed that hard in ages!
Two of my friends tried on this outfit and looked hot, so I decided I had to wear it today. It’s also part of my attempt to embrace more variety in my wardrobe, with more body con outfits. I mean, I have worn this before, but not in a long time. I have gotten pretty comfortable in one shape of clothing - circle skirts and petticoats - and don’t wear a lot of my other clothes very often anymore. So here’s to change! ;)
